Resurrection Medical Center Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as High Performing in Heart Arrhythmia Care
CHICAGO, IL, (August 8, 2025) – Resurrection Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, has been recognized as High Performing in Heart Arrhythmia care by U.S. News & World Report in its 2025–2026 Best Hospitals edition. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn for a specific procedure or condition under U.S. News’ annual ratings.
Nearly 4,500 hospitals were evaluated across 22 procedures and conditions. Ratings are based on objective performance measures, including patient outcomes, mortality and complication rates, and nursing care quality, using data from more than 800 million patient care records. For heart arrhythmia, scores reflect key indicators such as patient survival rates, recovery at home, number of patients treated, and other clinical data. Of the hospitals evaluated, 519 received a High Performing rating, signifying better outcomes compared to other hospitals.
“For more than three decades, U.S. News has served as a trusted resource for patients and families seeking high-quality care,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News. “Hospitals designated as ‘High Performing’ demonstrate consistent excellence in specific procedures and conditions, supported by strong outcomes and quality care.”
“We are honored to be recognized among the nation’s top hospitals for heart care,” said Luis Leon, interim CEO of Resurrection Medical Center. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and compassion of our physicians, nurses, and staff, who work every day to deliver exceptional care to our patients. With the support and investment of Prime Healthcare, we continue to advance our cardiovascular services and strengthen our commitment to the communities we serve. This recognition reflects not only clinical excellence, but our shared mission to improve lives through award-winning, compassionate care.”
In addition to recognition from U.S. News, Resurrection received “A” grades from the Lown Institute in several key categories reflecting strong clinical performance and a commitment to equity and value. These honors highlight excellence in clinical outcomes, patient experience, social responsibility, pay equity, cost efficiency, value of care, and inclusivity across income, race, and education levels. The Lown Institute Hospitals Index is the only ranking that evaluates equity, value, and outcomes together, offering a comprehensive view of how well hospitals serve their communities.
