Resurrection recognized among the nation’s top hospitals for quality, patient outcomes, value and social responsibility

(CHICAGO, IL) July 28, 2026 – Resurrection Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, has earned “A” grades in six categories on the 2026-27 Lown Institute Hospitals Index, recognizing the hospital’s performance in quality, patient outcomes, value and social responsibility. The hospital was recognized among more than 3,500 hospitals evaluated nationwide.

Resurrection Medical Center received “A” grades in the following categories:

  • Social Responsibility – A hospital’s overall combined results of equity, value and outcomes.
  • Clinical Outcomes – How well the hospital keeps patients alive and prevents return trips.
  • Patient Outcomes – Reflects a hospital’s performance in patient health and care experience.
  • Inclusivity – Delivery of consistent service across income, race, and education levels.
  • Cost Efficiency – Hospitals with lowest mortality and lowest costs compared to Medicare.
  • Value of Care – How well a hospital avoids unnecessary care and overspending, while achieving good patient and clinical outcomes.

The Lown Institute Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility is the only national ranking that combines measures of health equity, value of care and patient outcomes, offering a comprehensive view of how hospitals serve their communities. The 2026-27 rankings evaluated more than 3,500 hospitals nationwide using more than 50 measures, including community benefit, racial inclusivity and avoidance of unnecessary care.

“The best hospitals aren’t just clinically excellent, they’re deeply committed to the communities they serve, and work hard to ensure all patients get the care they need,” said Vikas Saini, MD, president of the Lown Institute. “High performance on the Lown Index shows that hospitals are doing more of what matters to patients and communities.”

The Lown Institute recognition adds to Resurrection Medical Center’s growing record of excellence. Most recently, the hospital was named one of Forbes Top Hospitals, reflecting its continued focus on providing high-quality care to the patients and communities it serves.

“I’m proud of this team’s continuous efforts to deliver quality care for our patients, and it’s always welcomed when their hard work is recognized by respected institutions like the Lown Institute. Our team remains committed to continuously focusing on delivering safe, compassionate care to everyone we serve,” said Luis Leon, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Resurrection Medical Center.
