- Spiritual and emotional assessment and support as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Identifying coping resources for distress and the challenges of illness.
- Facilitating crucial conversations and advocating for the dignity of each person.
- Providing sacramental care, rituals, prayers, and reflections.
- Spirituality and reflection groups.
- Critical care and crisis support.
- End-of-life and bereavement care.
- Educating and assisting in advance care planning.
- Facilitation of ethics consultation.
Catholic Sacraments
- Catholic Mass is offered for patients, families, associates and physicians on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at Noon. Chapel services are also available through our in-house television in patients’ rooms on channel
- Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing) is available 5 days per week: Monday through Friday. Please contact the Spiritual Care office at 773.990.5918.
- Holy Communion is provided daily to our patients and associates upon request.
Sacred Spaces at Resurrection Medical Center
- Our Chapel is located on the 2ndfloor, accessible via elevators near Entrance 1. The Chapel is always open to patients, visitors, associates, and physicians.
- Our Interfaith Prayer room is located on the 3rdfloor, accessible via elevators near Entrance 1.
- Healing Garden is located on the 1stfloor near Elevator “N”.
Engagement with Community Clergy
- Spiritual Care chaplains collaborate with community clergy and various religious leaders to support our patients, their families, and loved ones during the spiritual and emotional distress associated with illness and hospitalization.
- Patient and family can request community clergy and religious leaders to provide care and support during hospitalization.
Associate Care
- Providing spiritual and emotional support, including comfort during challenging times.
- Celebrating personal and professional milestones.
- Strengthening resilience and promoting a healthy work environment
- Debriefing after stressful events and traumas.
